Your machine.
Isolated. Yours.
2pq gives you a fully local virtual machine that runs on your own hardware — same CPU, same RAM pool, same SSD — but feels like a completely separate computer. No cloud. No hypervisor fees. Just a sandboxed environment you control entirely.
2pq is not a hypervisor like VMware or VirtualBox. It is a process-level isolation environment powered by Node.js. Your virtual machine shares the same physical RAM and storage as your host. Resources you allocate to the VM are reserved from your host pool — not duplicated. If you allocate 8 GB RAM to a VM on a 16 GB machine, your host keeps 8 GB. This means VMs behave like separate machines but physically run on your hardware. No hardware is harmed or overclocked.
From ZIP to running VM
in under two minutes
No installer. No admin privileges required. Unzip, point Node.js at the launcher, configure your machine, and boot.
Unzip the package
The ZIP contains the 2pq launcher, bundled Node.js runtime (so you never need to install Node manually), and the VM engine. No source code is included in the distribution.
Run the launcher
On Windows: double-click 2pq.exe. On macOS/Linux: ./2pq. A local dashboard opens in your browser at localhost:4020.
Configure your virtual machine
Choose RAM allocation, storage quota, CPU threads, and a name for your VM. You can run multiple VMs simultaneously if your hardware allows.
Boot and work
Your VM starts in seconds. Install operating systems, build AI models, run servers — all inside an isolated environment that disappears cleanly when you shut it down.
You set the limits
Before your VM boots, you decide exactly how much of your hardware it gets. Sliders. No config files.
One lab. Every workload.
2pq doesn't restrict what you run inside. It's a clean slate with a process boundary around it.
Train & run AI models
Build LLMs, SLMs, LRMs, diffusion models, embedding models, agents — anything. The VM sees your GPU if you pass it through.
Install any OS
Boot a Linux distro, a custom OS image, or run multiple operating systems side-by-side. ISOs mount directly.
Full isolation
Filesystem, network, and process boundaries. Experiments can't touch your host environment.
No overhead tax
Because 2pq doesn't emulate hardware, your code runs at native speed. Allocation is reservation, not emulation.
Snapshot & restore
Save VM state at any point and roll back. Experiment freely — your baseline is always one click away.
Networked or air-gapped
Toggle bridged networking for internet access, or keep the VM fully isolated for sensitive workloads.
Build the AI you need.
Not just the one you're allowed.
Inside a 2pq VM, you have the same freedom as bare metal. No terms of service on your model weights. No cloud egress on your training data.
Install what you actually need
Bring your own ISO or download directly from within the 2pq dashboard. Run multiple OS images in separate VMs simultaneously.
